Summer Project Team Member

Team Members join a small team for 6 weeks of leadership development, building community partnerships, and coaching students to reach their schools for Christ during the 2018 Summer Project

Responsibilities

  • Lay groundwork for effective ministry in 1 existing NSP Area within Chicago, LA, or San Jose.
  • Develop schools and community partnerships in 1 expansion area
  • Set up and run high school student training conferences in Summer 2018
  • Participate in setting up key events and programs for Fall 2018 (FTW, Prayer & Partnership nights, etc.)
  • Adapt plans and schedules to new situations and opportunities

Relationships

Team Members will report to a Squad Director or NSP Staff member and will work with students and community members

Pay scale and Support Raising

This position is a paid position, part time hourly.  We are trusting God to provide the funds necessary to hire each student worker.

In NSP, our ministry is funded by God’s people giving money to support God’s work. Every level of our team participates in support raising to the appropriate degree, including NSP Student Leaders and Interns. Student workers will create a personal support team who will pray and financially support you as you do ministry, and you’ll maintain it by sending out newsletters and tracking donations monthly.

Returning Student Leaders are expected to raise at least 50% of the funds needed for their ministry expenses and salary, and to increase their support raising goal by at least 25% from the previous year. See Student Leader Support Raising Policy for more details.

Key Dates and expected hours

Participation in the following events and seasons is required.

  • January 12-15 | Squad Director Orientation  | Thursday – Monday training coupled with CA Team Spring Retreat
  • March 23-24 | Student Leader Orientation | Friday evening and all day Saturday.
  • June 6-9 | Leadership Prep Days | 6 days in TBD | with all Squad Directors and Summer Staff
  • June 10 – July 19 | Summer Project | 6 weeks full time work, including travel days and occasional rest days. 

Leadership Requirements

Personal Health: NSP Leadership roles requires leaders who are personally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy, and we will conduct a personal and spiritual health check-in prior to the commencement of this leadership role. The results of that check-in may lead to changes in your placement or responsibility.
